Courses available in health, agriculture, business and trade and
technology. Graduates are awarded the Associate of Applied Science
degree. Lake Area Tech has a consistent 95% job placement rate after
graduation. Lake Area Tech is the first school in the nation to
provide training on a computerized dual feed welding machine, the
first school in the nation to be a training site for Case IH, and
the first school in the nation to convert an airplane to using
ethanol fuel.

Designed for the adult, nontraditional learner, most classes at the
Watertown campus meet once weekly, primarily in the evening but with
some daytime offerings. Students may attend either part time or full
time, choosing from more than 70 courses each semester. Financial
aid is available for eligible degree-seeking students. Bachelor
degrees are available in accounting, business, elementary education,
liberal arts and selected studies. Associate degrees include
business, general studies and criminal justice.

Helping businesses find their niche in the international marketplace
is a specialty of Northern State University, where students learn
about everything from international management to international
marketing. All NSU students are required to do an internship, which
gives business people an opportunity for hiring interns. Northern
State also has outstanding business and computer programs. With
nearly 30 computer labs on campus, NSU offers a 1:7 computer to
student ratio.

A land grant institution, SDSU has colleges of Agriculture and
Biological Sciences, Arts and Science, Education and Counseling,
Engineering, Family and Consumer Sciences, Pharmacy, and General
Registration. Masters and Doctoral degrees are available in many
majors. Extensive agricultural research is conducted. The South
Dakota art museum is located on campus, with many Harvey Dunn works
on display.
