Tree City U.S.A.

Clark has been a Tree City U.S.A. for 25 years, and each year the community's appreciation for the town's beautiful trees is shown with new planting, prunings, and events that celebrate the trees.  The Tree City USA program is sponsored by The National arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.  Clark has met the four standards to become a Tree City USA; a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, a comprehensive community forestry program, and an Arbor Day observance.  South Dakota information for Tree City USA is available at http://www.state.sd.us/doa/forestry/programs-services/forestry/treecityusa.htm

The Clark Rotary Club has been working with Craig Brown, Community Service Forester to replace trees within the City of Clark since 2006.  For more information on this project, visit Clark Rotary Tree Project.
