Providing service and integrity to others through fellowship of business, professional and community leaders.
This nationwide organization of business and professional men and women are interested in serving their communities in a variety of ways. There are four Avenues of Service which Rotary asks a Rotarian to serve. They are Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service and International Service.
The Rotary motto is Service Above Self. Our mission is to provide service to others and promote integrity through fellowship of business, professional and community leaders.
Clark Rotary is well known for their community projects with the most ambitious being the renovation of Dakota Style Field at Dickinson Park. The goal is to improve the field and facilities to make it worthy of a State Legion Baseball Tournament in the future.
Take a drive around Clark in the spring and see all the new trees blooming and growing. For the past ten years, Rotarians have been buying and planting boulevard trees for the community. To date almost 500 have been planted.
The most long lived project is the care and yearly observance of the Little Fellow- a fascinating story that has become a legend of Eastern South Dakota and a service project of the Clark Rotary since 1951.
The Paul Harris Fellow program recognizes individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Clark Rotary has the distinction of becoming the first 100% Paul Harris Rotary Club in South Dakota. Those donations are to the PolioPlus Fund or approved Foundation grants. Rotary International has been working to eradicate polio for more than 30 years and these funds help supply vaccine and necessary supplies. Despite the progress made since 1979, three countries still have the poliovirus (Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria).
